Thirty Seconds To Mars to perform at Almaty Sports and Training Complex on June 21, 2025
The band's history began in 1998, when the Leto brothers decided to create a post-grunge hard rock band called "Thirty Seconds to Mars". Their work was influenced by such legends as "The Cure", "Metallica", "Pink Floyd" and "Led Zeppelin". However, over time, the band developed its own unique style, which became the band's calling card. Their first album, released in 2002, although not commercially successful, allowed them to make a name for themselves on the post-grunge scene. The band actively toured with famous alternative bands such as "Chevelle" and "Our Lady Peace". In 2003, Tomo Milicevic joined them as a permanent member. The singles from the debut album reached the top ten of the UK Rock Chart and in the US it reached number 107 on the Billboard 200. The album received positive reviews from critics thanks to production by Bob Ezrin.
After this success, the band continued to work on music, despite Jared's busy filming. Three years later, they released their second album, A Beautiful Lie, recorded on four continents. This more lyrical and frank disc attracted new fans.
In December 2009, the band's third album, This is War, was released. It was inspired by Frank Herbert's novel Dune and conveyed the spirit of fighting for dreams. To record the album, the band involved their fans, who participated in the choral parts of the songs. Moreover, they collected about 2,000 photos of fans from all over the world to create various album covers. This collection went platinum in several countries and received numerous MTV European Music Awards.
