On June 21, 2025, a concert of the group "Thirty Seconds To Mars" will take place at the Spartak stadium in Almaty
Jared Leto, a famous actor who has starred in films such as Requiem for a Dream, Fight Club, and American Psycho, was surrounded by art since childhood. He and his brother Shannon grew up in a family that encouraged creative endeavors, from music to photography. Jared studied painting in Philadelphia but soon moved to New York to study filmmaking. In 1992, he moved to Los Angeles, where Shannon soon followed. After several years of working in film, the brothers founded the band Thirty Seconds to Mars with Matt Wachter, which made a significant contribution to the history of grunge rock.
Their first album, 30 Seconds to Mars, was released on August 27, 2002 via Immortal. Although it was not a commercial sensation, the band managed to attract an audience through extensive touring with other alternative bands such as Chevelle and Our Lady Peace. In 2003, Croatian musician Tomo Milicevic joined the band. He contributed to albums such as A Beautiful Lie (2005), This Is War (2009), Love Lust Faith + Dreams (2013), and America (2018). Milicevic later left the band and ended his musical career.
Work on the second album lasted three years due to Jared's busy filming schedule. However, the album, titled A Beautiful Lie, was released and brought the band much greater success compared to the debut release. Jared himself described this album as a deeply personal confession that touches the souls of listeners. Unlike the first album, the sound became more dramatic and emotional, which strengthened the band's ties with the emo subculture.
In 2009, the band's third album, "This Is War", was released. Its lyrics explore the themes of war, the struggle for dreams and love, inspired by Frank Herbert's novel "Dune". The musical compositions are filled with cosmic references and calls to not give up in the face of difficulties. The video for the album's lead single, "Kings and Queens", was filmed in Los Angeles and was remembered for the participation of numerous fans.
To date, the band has six studio albums. Special guests of the concert are the group "Yonaka", known for their experiments in the genres of alternative rock, indie rock and pop rock.
