Description
IPPODROMO SAN SIRO Italy or Ippodromo Snai San Siro is a famous horse racing track, just like Snai La Maura in Milan and Snai Cesana in Montecatini Terme, owned by the Italian corporation Snaitech SpA.
The racetrack was built in 1920 and has been considered one of the most prestigious equestrian arenas at the international level for over a century.
The racetrack’s running tracks and grounds are considered to be among the most diverse in the world, and thanks to the various configurations (four for sprints, one for fence running, one for steeplechase and one for cross-country), it can host equestrian competitions of different distances, from 1,000 to 3,000 meters for sprints and up to 5,000 meters for obstacle courses.
The lawns of this famous racetrack have hosted horses of such prestigious breeds as Tenerani, Ribot, Sirlad, Tony Bean, Falbrav. They were ridden by equally famous jockeys, such as Enrico Camici, Frankie Dettori and Mirko Demuro, to name just a few.
The Snai San Siro Racecourse covers a vast area of 1,600,000 square meters and hosts over 70 horse days annually, with over 500 races in total. In addition to the regular competitions, the calendar also includes ten Grand Prix.
It is worth mentioning that the Italian Snai San Siro Racecourse is the only facility of its kind in the world for equestrian sports, which was declared a "monument of national interest" in Italy.
